What’s New This Week? 05-01-21 to 05-15-21

What's Happening May 1 - 15, 2021?

The latest construction updates.

The following work is scheduled for 05-01-21 to 05-15-21:

Final “punch list” work is all that remains in the renovated professional office corridor.  All staff have returned to their updated offices, albeit with a few boxes left to unpack.  The entire team, from the front office and accountant, to the ministry leaders, to the senior pastor and counselors are all now on the same corridor.  The typical office received upgraded electrical service, fire sprinkling, new ceilings, carpet and paint, and network connectivity to the new IT server room.  A new central work room was also completed with a large work table, space for all our office equipment and ample storage.

Selective demolition to separate the old building from the existing building is complete.  Along with the requisite utility separation, demolition work in May will now involve heavy equipment.   Specifically, a large excavator will safely take the building down.  The building is essentially knocked down on itself into the lower level, which will allow the excavator to move closer to the perimeter of the old sanctuary to complete the demolition.  The demolition involves sorting the refuse and hauling the debris off-site.  This work will continue all through the month of May.

Office Renovation:

  • Complete installation of fixtures in bathrooms
  • Complete all punch list work, including paint touchup, light switches, cabinetry finishes
  • Complete relocation and upgrade of elevator equipment room and receive necessary licensing

  • Signoff on all preparatory separation activities (utilities, temporary shoring, necessary separation)
  • Begin demolition of the old sanctuary with excavator equipment (expected Monday, May 3, 2021)
  • Sort and remove debris from site
