Worship services celebrating Advent are held each weekend, from November 28 through December 19, in our sanctuary and chapel. In addition, on December 7, the women of Redeemer celebrated their annual Advent by Candlelight event. This event and all our Advent worship services can be viewed on Redeemer’s Vimeo web page, here.
In addition, for the second year in a row, during the pandemic, a Living Nativity was staged outside, around Redeemer. This year, on December 5, the Living Nativity included seven stations with actors, readers and singers. The afternoon ended with refreshments and Redeemer’s brass band, a fire pit and Salvation Army kettle in the new, under construction, sanctuary.
Finally, while the construction area in front of Redeemer limits our ability to adequately declare our joy for the season with our traditional nativity and lights, we nonetheless found a way to announce our anticipation for the arrival of the baby Jesus with a large Bethlehem star. Thanks to two wonderful donors, a nearly five foot tall lighted star was hung by our construction crew in the center of the large steel beam we all signed back in September. Passerbys can see the star, day and night, hanging boldly over our new front porch.
